IELTS SPEAKING PART 1: ASKING FOR HELP (ANSWERS)

PART 1

ASKING FOR HELP

ANSWERS

Do you ask for help when you have a problem?

(Answer 1)

I rarely do because I always try my best to figure things out (to find a solution to a problem after a lot of thought) on my own. I dunno perhaps because I’m a prideful person. I feel small whenever I ask for help.

(Answer 2)

It depends. If that problem is pretty manageable, I don’t. However, if it’s overwhelming (too much to manage) for me, then, I don’t hesitate to ask for help, especially from my loved ones or closest friends. Last year, I asked for help from my mom because I was struggling financially.

Why are teachers always willing to help students?

(Answer 1)

Well, that’s what they are made for. They take an oath to their profession that no matter what the circumstances are, they’re there for students. They’re willing to enrich or uplift the lives of their students and because of that, teachers are one of the best people in society.

(Answer 2)

That’s simply because they are nurturing. They want their students to improve their lives or develop skills so that they can do something more valuable in their lives and add value to their community. No wonder (not surprising), teaching is considered the noblest (virtuous; honorable) profession.

What kinds of help do you often ask for?

(Answer 1)

Like I said earlier, I rarely ask for help. The last time I asked for help was when I was physically ill. It was a serious illness that I couldn’t do things on my own so I went back to my parent’s house and my mom took care of me. I was grateful for my mom and that’s why I oftentimes see her.

(Answer 2)

I don’t often ask for help about something but of course, I ask for help sometimes. Well, I sometimes ask for financial help from my parents, especially when my business is not doing well and I need some cash. I repay them though. And I sometimes ask for help from my closest friends about some random things.

When was the last time you asked for help?

(Answer 1)

Two years ago I was really ill that I wouldn’t survive if I hadn’t asked for help. My parents were helping me recover from my illness and I’m so happy that I have caring and loving parents. That was the last time I asked for help.

(Answer 2)

Oh, just yesterday! I asked for help from my friend who lives near my house. I asked him to fix our leaky faucet since he’s a plumber and I was happy for the result.

Hi students! My name is Julius. I am the author of this IELTS website. I am a non-native English speaker who achieved the highest band score (band 9.0) on the IELTS speaking test on my first attempt.
