IELTS SPEAKING PART 1: SNACKS [ANSWERS]

When do you usually eat snacks now? Well, I eat snacks when I start to feel a bit hungry, and it’s not time for lunch or dinner yet. I can’t miss eating a bit of a snack because if I do, I experience hypotension. I shiver uncontrollably, and it takes some time for me to recover. Because of that, I eat snacks when I feel the need, as advised by my doctor.

PART 1

SNACKS

ANSWERS

What kinds of snacks do you like to eat?

(Answer 1)

I love eating chips, and I know that’s not healthy, but I just can’t help myself (to be unable to control my action) but devour (eat quickly or hungrily) those kinds of snacks. In fact, I store many kinds of chips of different flavors in our pantry, and I eat them from time to time (occasionally).

(Answer 2)

As I’m a health-conscious person, I make sure to eat healthy snacks such as nuts and fruits. I love eating almonds, pistachios, apples, and mangoes. They’re kind of expensive compared to unhealthy snacks such as chips and chocolates, but I’d rather invest in my health than spend more money on medications (treatment using drugs).

Did you often eat snacks when you were young?

(Answer 1)

Yes, I did! In fact, I was fat when I was a kid, as I ate a lot of sweets such as chocolates, cakes, and candies during my snack time. I remember my parents oftentimes got mad at me because I really didn’t listen to their warnings in terms of minimizing (reducing) my consumption of sweets. I dunno, I was not obedient back then (a particular time in the past).

(Answer 2)

Not that much! I only ate snacks during our recess in school. One was before lunch and the other was at three in the afternoon. And when I didn’t have school, I couldn’t really eat a lot of snacks at home because my mom didn’t want me to keep eating, as she’s afraid that I would gain so much weight. In school, I ate biscuits and some fruits and vegetables, and if I was at home, I ate some chocolates and some pastries.

When do you usually eat snacks?

(Answer 1)

Well, I eat snacks when I start to feel a bit hungry, and it’s not time for lunch or dinner yet. I can’t miss eating a bit of a snack because if I do, I experience hypotension (low blood sugar). I shiver (tremble) uncontrollably, and it takes some time for me to recover. Because of that, I eat snacks when I feel the need, as advised by my doctor.

(Answer 2)

As I’m on a diet these days, I follow a regular schedule for eating snacks. I have my snacks at 9:30 in the morning and 3:00 in the afternoon. This is the schedule that I follow since this is recommended by my fitness coach. But sometimes I skip eating snacks, especially if I don’t feel hungry at all.

Do you think it is healthy for you to eat snacks?

(Answer 1)

Absolutely! As I have a medical condition, I can’t miss feeding myself with some snacks before having major meals. As I said, if I take my hunger for granted (to never think about it), I just tremble and get headaches. So, eating some snacks is a great help for me not to experience that uneasiness (feeling discomfort).

(Answer 2)

Yes, without a doubt! Eating snacks, especially different kinds of nuts and dried fruits, and some meat, is healthy for me according to my fitness coach, since they’re all rich in nutrients. As he said, my body needs different kinds of nutrients in order for me to reach my fitness goal. So, I’ll keep eating some snacks as long as they’re healthy for me.
