PART 1
VIDEO GAMES
ANSWERS
Do you play video games?
(Answer 1)
Yes, I do. It’s my favorite pastime. Recently, I’ve been playing Call of Duty: War Zone and God of War Ragnarok. I’m so hooked (to enjoy doing so much that you’re unable to stop doing it) on playing these two video games because they are thrilling (exciting) and they simply energize me, especially when I feel so stressed out with my work.
(Answer 2)
Yes, but I’m not as addicted as most young people. I regulate (control) myself because I know how time-consuming playing video games is. In the past, when I was still a student, I was crazy about (to be very interested in something) playing various video games during summer break because that’s the only thing I could do at home. There were some occasions when I slept very late because of playing my favorite video games.
Would you watch others play video games?
(Answer 1)
No, I don’t find any pleasure in watching others play video games. I want to play video games and not watch others play because playing is more fun than watching. Playing has so much excitement because you’re basically in control of the game consoles and your brain is so active since you have to strategize things so you can defeat (beat) your opponent. That’s something a watcher can’t experience.
(Answer 2)
Yes, I actually do that sometimes, especially when I visit my cousins in their house. I enjoy watching them play video games because they’re very good players. In fact, one of them won a Dota 2 tournament which I think was held abroad, if I’m not mistaken. Watching them play their favorite video games is fun and educational because I can learn different techniques.
Do you think people spend too much time playing video games?
(Answer 1)
Undeniably yes! Playing any kind of video game is addictive. That’s the truth! Once you start playing, you don’t want to stop or else you’ll only mess up. I think every video game is designed to be addictive, and as a result, some players who don’t have self-discipline will only get sick since they miss their meals or miss sleeping 8 hours or more. Well, I was once a gamer who lacked (be absent of) self-discipline.
(Answer 2)
Absolutely, most especially teenagers and young adults. They play too much which sadly takes a toll on (to have a bad effect) their health and even their relationships. There are so many news reports about gamers who sadly passed on (died) because they lost oxygen in their brain for not resting enough due to excessive playing video games. Also, a lot of relationships got broken because those men prioritized playing over spending quality time with their girlfriends or wives.
Do you prefer playing video games alone or with others?
(Answer 1)
That depends. If I have friends with me at home, I love playing video games with them, or if I visit my friends, we play games as our way of hanging out (spending time relaxing). But if I’m alone at home, obviously I play on my own since there’s no one else in our family who is into playing video games.
(Answer 2)
I prefer the former (the first mentioned) because I can give my 100% focus on the video game that I play. I don’t like distractions. I can’t stand (unable to put up with someone or something) the sudden shout that some gamers make when they express their frustration when playing. That to me is annoying. I enjoy playing my favorite video game alone.
