PART 1
SUNGLASSES
ANSWERS
Do you like wearing sunglasses?
(Answer 1)
Yes, I’m really into (be interested) wearing sunglasses, especially during summertime not because I want to look fashionable but it’s because I need to protect my eyes from the strong UV rays (ultraviolet rays) of the sun. As you know, extended exposure to the sun’s UV rays can damage one’s eyesight.
(Answer 2)
Yes, I do but not as often as in summer. I actually have different pairs of sunglasses that I enjoy wearing in different seasons but my favorite one is Oakley Jawbreaker cycling glasses. I wear them when I go cycling and they’re just pretty and comfy (comfortable).
Why do you wear sunglasses?
(Answer 1)
Obviously, I have to protect my eyes from sunlight, especially these days when too much exposure to the sun causes cancer. Besides, I wear them to protect my eyes from dust. I think everyone does that these days!
(Answer 2)
I don’t want to go blind so wearing sunglasses is a must. A pair of sunglasses can provide protection to my eyes and I believe everyone should put on a pair of glasses, especially during summertime. That’s an act of self-care.
How often do you wear sunglasses?
(Answer 1)
Well, whenever I go out, especially when I spend time at the beach. I can’t stand not wearing sunglasses while sunbathing or swimming on the beach. Also, when I go driving at noon time because that’s the time the sun glares (shines with a strong or dazzling light).
(Answer 2)
As I said, I wear them very often during summertime as I should. In fact, I have many kinds of sunglasses that I enjoy wearing during that season. I have an Aviator, Wayfarer, and Oakley’s Radar and Ojector.
Have you ever lost your sunglasses?
(Answer 1)
Yes, unfortunately, because of carelessness. I attended a beach party with my friends last summer and I missed putting them in my bag when I was leaving. So, when I got home, I realized that my sunglasses weren’t inside my bag. I felt bad because that pair was my favorite.
(Answer 2)
I haven’t as I’m very careful with my things. I always make sure to place them inside my bag or in their cases after I use them, especially because they’re expensive. It would be heartbreaking if I lost a pair of my sunglasses.
How often do you buy sunglasses?
(Answer 1)
Rarely, these days because I have a lot already. I don’t need to keep on buying as I’m not a fashionista (a designer, a follower, a promoter of the latest fashion) or an actor. I’m happy with 4 pairs of sunglasses. Anyway, I only have two eyes! (Hahaha)
(Answer 2)
Very seldom, but in the past, I loved buying sunglasses whenever I saw something very unique to my eyes. I admit that I was an impulsive buyer back then, and as a result, I have lots of sunglasses at home. Some of them aren’t used anymore.
What types of sunglasses do you have?
Well, I’m a big fan of Rayban sunglasses – I have the aviator type (a type of Rayban sunglasses which has a teardrop shape and a metal frame this is a classic type that is popularized by pilots). I usually wear it during summertime as the lenses are bigger – they can surely protect my eyes and I like the fact that the nose pads (a pair of protuberances that are attached to the bridge of spectacles) are adjustable. Also, I love wearing Wayfarer (one of Rayban’s sunglasses with a thick frame and trapezoidal shape) sunglasses simply because they look attractive and I can match them with any outfit.
Where can you buy sunglasses?
I only buy sunglasses from brick-and-mortar (the physical presence of a business; offline shop) shops as I really want to try them on before buying. I want to make sure that it completely suits my face. Although online shops are a good place to order sunglasses, still I go for the conventional shops – I like the idea of choosing one particular design from a wide selection of sunglasses displayed on a rack and trying them on (put on; to wear) in front of a mirror.
Do people in your country wear sunglasses?
Yes, people in my country love wearing sunglasses not only during summertime but even in springtime. Of course, in summer, people want to protect their eyes from the strong sunlight, that’s what we all should do. Also, I can see some people putting on (wearing) sunglasses during springtime because they want to shield (protect) their eyes from allergens such as the pollens that cause teary eyes and runny nose.
